Common situations
Standard Quantity
Setting a minimum of around 3 products and a maximum of 5 is a common strategy for popular products that are not in extremely high demand.
This allows a few units to remain in reserve if several sales happen quickly. When the stock reaches the minimum, it is time to reorder products to return to the maximum level.
Bulk Order
Setting a high minimum (for example, 30) and an even higher maximum (for example, 50) is useful when a product may sell quickly over a short period of time.
This is often the case for products that become popular on social media or in the media.
However, this strategy carries a risk: if the product sells less than expected, you may end up with a large amount of unnecessary stock.
Minimal Order
Setting a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 1 helps increase the diversity of available products.
For example, a figurine store may keep only one unit of each model and order a new one after a sale.
This strategy promotes variety, but it limits repeat sales when a product becomes popular.
On-Demand Order
This strategy generally uses a negatif minimum of -1 and a maximum of 0.
Products are ordered only when there is actual demand, which reduces losses caused by unsold inventory.
In return, customers must wait longer before receiving their product.
